RISD Student Council returns from trip to see how the government really works

RISD’s Student Council (STUCO) recently returned from a 3-day trip (April 11th to 13th) to Austin where they had the opportunity to experience the state capital of Texas. The students stayed in a hotel in the heart of downtown that was designed in a blend of historic and modern French Quarter style, and included a 4th floor roof-top swimming pool. Upon arrival, the students were able to take the Austin Riverboat tour where they learned a great deal about the buildings in downtown Austin, the Mexican Free-Tail Bats that nest under one of their bridges, the history of Austin and the changes that are occurring in the area.
