Edwards County Game Warden Blake Satterfield
Illegal hunters will be hunted by the law
Edwards County Game Warden Blake Satterfield has 2,120 square miles to cover in which to protect and enforce state hunting and fishing laws, protect natural resources and the environment as well as overseeing boating safety (although not much water in Edwards County). Satterfield works around the clock (often times quite literally) to fulfill his duties, and he does so with pride.
It seems that here in Edwards County poaching is the most common offense. Lawabiding hunters view poachers as villains who ruin the good name of legal hunting, and Satterfield couldn’t agree more. “Poachers are knowingly breaking the laws and depleting the resources from the state and the landowners,” stated Satterfield.
