James Oliver to assume RISD superintendent duties February 1st

RISD will soon be welcoming its new superintendent, James Oliver, on February 1st of the 2021 semester. I went to meet Mr. Oliver at the Meet and Greet held at the Gilmer Memorial Library last Wednesday, where he agreed to a feature in the Texas Mohair Weekly. We wanted to ask him a few questions about his background, as well as his interests, so that the Rocksprings community could get to know their newest administrator/educator on a more personal level.

Edwards County Commissioners held regular court this past Tuesday morning. Judge Souli Shanklin and Commissioners Matt Fry, Lee Sweeten and Marty Graham were present while Commissioner Kenneth Reed was absent. Judge Shanklin began the Pledge of Allegiance and was recited by all followed by Commissioner Fry leading all in prayer. Prior minutes were approved, and the Burn Ban will remain lifted until the need to be reinstated arises.
