In his Monday, April 27th afternoon address on plans to reopen the state, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is allowing a nearly fourweek stay-at-home guidelines to expire this Thursday. That means many retail outlets will be allowed to reopen Friday, with limits.
We’re living in a time that most of us have never experienced in our lives or know of in past history. Changes are rapidly taking place as we wonder just what the ‘new norm’ will be. Let’s take a quick look at our DSHS Region, particularly Edwards County, Rocksprings and the reopening of Texas.
In preparation for Memorial Day, the Rocksprings Masonic Lodge #758 will be drilling holes for PVC pipes into veteran’s graves at Rocksprings Cemetary. These pipes will allow flags to easily be placed for display. The Edwards County Historical Commission will organize a date for the flags to be inserted closer to the ceremony.
Two long time employees of the Sonora Research Station will retire at the end of the month. Both Robert Moen and Miguel Ibarra have worked at the Sonora Research Station for over 25 years. A big celebration was in the planning stages when COVID-19 became an unwelcome party crasher.
