Youth Group cleans up Barksdale
The Youth Group from the First Baptist Church of Camp Wood answered the call to help and serve others in their Canyon Community, on Saturday, June 29th.
This group of dedicated teenagers volunteered to assist in a cleanup of Barksdale, as part of their mission outreach program. These tireless kids worked in the summer heat, putting in a full day of collection of dumpster items, metal, tires, and brush, with only smiles and helpful hands.
The people of Barksdale are very appreciative of their kindness and hard work. Special thanks to their youth group sponsors, Amira DeHoyas and Becky Williams. These ladies worked side by side with the youth group. Many thanks also to the Edwards County Commissioners and Judge Shanklin for payment of the 40 cubic yard dumpster rental.
The truck and trailer loaned by Toby and Richard Kramer made the clean up so much easier. The sodas and bottles of water, donated by Marcia and Keith Crow, owners of Camp Wood Hardware and Camp Wood Auto, were much appreciated throughout the hot workday and help to keep the group hydrated.
