RHS Student Council cleans cemetery
Saturday morning may have been a great day to snuggle in bed, but not for Rocksprings ISD Student Council Members. This past Saturday, February 8th, eight of them converged on the far end of the Rocksprings cemetery to help beautify the community. They raked leaves, picked up sticks, re-assembled flower arrangements that had been blown apart by the weather, gathered trash, and trimmed the grass in the walk ways between plots.
Over the course of 3 hours the students, ranging from Freshmen to Seniors, were accompanied by their advisors, Mrs. Marsha McQueen and Mrs. Kathy Fulton, as well as a couple of community members. The group focused their efforts exclusively on the back half of the cemetery, which appeared to be in need of cleaning.
Student Council members first came out to clean and beautify the cemetery back in October. At that time, the predominantly Hispanic portion of the cemetery at the back was greatly in need of attention so this is where they worked for their first 3 hour cemetery cleanup.
