Katy Shanklin completes Leadership Excellence Training program in Washington, D.C.

Edwards County resident Katy Shanklin participated in Leadership Excellence Training for Program Technicians in Washington, D.C. last week. Shanklin, an employee of the Farm Service Agency, a division of the United States Department of Agriculture, obtained skills for growth and opportunity from some of the top leaders in Agriculture. Shanklin and the others in training were also paid a visit from Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue, and Deputy Administrator Richard Fordyce presented Shanklin with her Certificate of Completion. This was a nine month training program and included two prior trips to Kansas City, Missouri. The third and final trip that concluded the training was at the National Office in D.C. Congratulations, Katy, and thank you for taking your career in agriculture seriously and implementing your best skills to benefit the industry here in Edwards County.
