Get ready to rodeo in Rocksprings

The seventh annual Rocksprings Edwards County Volunteer Fire Department Fish Fry, Goat Roping and Rodeo will take place August 31st at the Edwards County Fairgrounds. There will be a silent auction, Polaris Ranger raffle and a gun raffle to help support the VFD. $9,000 added money will be added to the rodeo for the contestants.

The first annual (2012) Rocksprings Edwards County Volunteer Fire Department Fish Fry started with a ranch rodeo and then in 2018 the rodeo portion came back to life.

Then, as there are now, were prizes available at the silent auction and raffle. Prizes are donated by area businesses and individual supporters.

Labor Day weekend typically brings in landowners and lease hunters coming in from all areas for some Edwards County dove hunting and all visitors are most certainly encouraged to come eat and enjoy the Labor Day weekend festivities.

Visitors may even want to participate in the goat roping! The goat roping will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the books opening at 10:00 a.m. This is a horseless roping so any age is able to participate. Come join the fun and rope or just bring your lawn chair and watch. No cost to watch but it is $20 a team to rope. Buckles will be given to the champion header and heeler plus cash payout.
