FEMA award of over 1 million dollars presented to Edwards County

Tuesday morning, in spite of the cold, drizzly weather, the Edwards County Commissioners held a regular meeting. County Judge Souli Shanklin, Commissioner Kenneth Reed, Commissioner Matt Fry and Commissioner Lee Sweeten were present while Commissioner William Epperson was absent. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in the courtroom and Commissioner Reed led everyone in prayer.

Prior minutes were approved and it was also voted that the Burn Ban will be lifted until the county dries out again.

A contract was approved for Esser & Company Consulting, LLC to manage Edwards County’s FEMA Award and the Commissioners also authorized Judge Shanklin to sign the contract. A check in the amount of $1,109,061.61 was presented to the Court.
