Deer halts spring break bikers’ outing
Pleasant weather brought many motorcycle bikers out to enjoy spring break in the Hill Country this past week. One group’s trip was cut short due to a collision with a deer.
The incident happened Saturday, March 9th about 15 miles north of HWY 377 N. We were traveling back from the track meet in Mason when we arrived on the scene as the third vehicle to come up on the wreck. Two bikers were injured lying down on the pavement, both with injuries.
Driver of a large tanker truck who had stopped said the female was more seriously injured. The wreck was caused when a Whitetail deer buck crossed the road colliding with the bikers.
