Believing that Edwards County/Rocksprings, TX, being the remote hunting mecca that it is, was bullet-proof to the COVID-19 virus has been proven wrong. Our DSHS Region 8 report has not recorded a coronavirus for months. Every week, we were 0 cases. That will change this week.
A Valero employee has supposedly tested positive, but Judge Souli Shanklin had not been notified by the Region as of Tuesday. However, on Tuesday, the convenience store and which is one of two gas stations in Rocksprings closed it’s doors to follow procedures to deep clean the business prior to re-opening. Customers need to practice the health safeguards directed by the state in any situation.
Eldorado’s Stripes Convenience Store was also shut down earlier. They hired a crew out of San Angelo to deep clean and were opened back up the next day, but using employees from Sonora.
