City employee becomes town hero
The City of Rocksprings City Council held a regularly scheduled monthly meeting this past Monday evening. During the time of roll call council members Sharron Croft, Emma Barnebey and council member/acting mayor Brian Wood were present. Council member Ray Chapa had notified Mayor Wood that he would be arriving to the meeting late but was en route. Chapa later did arrive. Council member Melinda Ortiz was not in attendance, however, a quorum was still met. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited and the meeting commenced.
Council member/acting mayor Wood provided the monthly public works report. Wood explained that he was been working with city employee Jerry Gonzales (not in attendance), who is currently in the process of becoming licensed to manage and treat the waste water, etc. (and should be fully licensed within 90 days). Wood reported that the water station is in need of repairs, testing materials, etc. He said there are currently two pumps down but are being sent for repairs promptly.
