The theme for the Poster Contest for 2010 is “Conservation Habits=Healthy Habitats.”
The Poster Contest is open to boys and girls ages 12 years and under and does not jeopardize Texas Interscholastic League eligibility.
All poster entries should be on standard poster board, cut to half size (22” X 14”). Artwork on poster entries should be produced with materials which do not readily smear, crack or chip. If necessary, a sealant or lamination may be used and the artwork should be flat. Poster contest winners will receive trophies and the winning entries will be sent to the Area II level in Temple. Area II winners will be presented additional awards.
The topic for the 2010 Essay Contest is “What Soil and Water Conservation Means to Me”
The Essay Contest is open to two age groups: Ages 13 and Under (maximum of 300 words); Ages 14 to 18 (maximum of 500 words). Prize money is awarded locally. Both age groups will receive for 1st place, $100.00 and 2nd place, $50.00. Winning entries will be sent to the Area II level in Temple. Area II winners will be presented additional awards.
All entries must be in the District Headquarters in Rocksprings by Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010. The Posters and Essays will be picked up at the school offices on Wednesday morning, February 3rd. Additional information is available by calling (830) 683-2125.
