Within Edwards County, Texas there is a BURN BAN. This means that conditions are favorable for a fire that could be a large financial burden, do property damage or is a risk to human safety if involved in grass or brush fires. It is up to the public to make certain that we protect our resources. Outdoor burning of any kind is BANNED unless otherwise stated and right now that means no fires. The Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission can do prescribed burns because they have the equipment and personnel to do such work, plus they are also trained in these areas. In order to do a prescribed burn on your property, you would have to go through legal channels to get such permission. It is costly and unwise to do such a thing during these conditions. Please help and don’t do any burning during this time. In accordance with Local Government Code §352.081 (h), a violation of this order is a Class C misdemeanor, punishable by a fine not to exceed $500.00. |
