Palacio graduates from Academy in Uvalde

- On June 22nd, David Palacio graduated from The Middle Rio Grande Law Enforcement Academy in Uvalde, Texas. David successfully completed the 700 hour course of study in Basic Peace Officer Program. Throughout the Basic Peace Officer Course, David was required to take approximately 50 written examinations covering 29 topic areas. He was tested over skills covering firearms, police driving, arrest-control tactics and standardized field sobriety testing. David passed all skills tests and maintained an 85% average on all written examinations enabling him to be eligible to take the two final examinations so he could receive an endorsement letter from the academy coordinator and eligible to sit for the State Licensing Exam.
David received his Certificate of Completion in Baton Training, Crisis Intervention Training, Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, Doppler Traffic Radar Operator and American Heart Association First Aid Program.
Helping David celebrate were Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wells from Camp Wood, Ms. Marissa Benavidez from San Antonio, Mrs. Lilia Franco from Zapata, Mr. Ben Vasquez from Dallas, Ms. Alejandro I. Benavidez from Kingsville and Sheriff Don Letsinger, Mr. and Mrs. James Palacio, Mrs. Diana and Liliana Quintero, Ana and Anthony Benavidez, Mrs. Nitza, Jerry, Mario Benavidez, Mr. and Mrs. Arnulfo Benavidez Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Felipe Palacio and little brother Philip Palacio, all of Rocksprings. Following the graduation the above went to Pizza Hut to celebrate with David. David is employed with The Kinney County Sheriff’s Department as a Deputy, but works as Operation Boarder Star where he patrols for illegal drug trafficking and human smuggling.
