Saturday's Internet Edition, July 05, 2008. Shanklin and Adkins win Bridge Club championship - The Rocksprings Duplicate Bridge Club held its first club championship of the year Saturday, February 23. Contact person Leslie Gordon (683-7907) did a sensational job in collecting enough players to have four tables of bridge. Competitors were Fred Adkins and Dorothy Harrell from Sonora; Judy Gardner, Doris Jacoby, Kathryn Massie, Joanne Molesworth and Ruby Shepard from Junction; Guy Crippen from Eldorado; Carol Eligin and Jean Lane from Camp Wood; Hesta Harrison from Barksdale; Andrew Barnebey, Pat Fish, Leslie Gordon, Lillie Shanklin and Evelyn Weaver from Rocksprings. The new club champions are Fred Adkins and Lillie Shanklin. Runners-up are Doris Jacoby and Ruby Shepard. Third place was taken by Evelyn Weaver and bridge director/manager Andrew Barnebey. A delightful time of fellowship, good food, and pretty good cards describes the afternoon. Rocksprings Duplicate Bridge Club meets almost every Saturday.
