Carol married Berniece Silvers on September 27, 1942 in New Braunfels, Texas. They moved to Rocksprings in 1943, where they continued ranching and raised their family. He was preceded in death by his father Roy Milton Cottle, his mother Josephine Cosper Cottle, sister Ellie Cottle and brother Howard Cottle. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Berniece Silvers Cottle of Rocksprings, Texas; three sons: Rodney Cottle and wife Carol Gene of Carrizo Springs, Texas; Robert Cottle and wife Cheryl of Rocksprings, Texas, Stan Cottle and wife Corrinne of Rocksprings; one sister, Vera Strentz; nine grandchildren: Jim Cottle and wife Rene, Katherine Cottle Letsinger and husband Cash, Kyra Cottle Marino and husband Clay, Kelcey Nicole Cottle, Travis Cade Cottle, Carol Roy Cottle, III and wife Judith, Lisa Cottle Bisig and husband Keith, Colby Allen Cottle and Kayla Cottle; six great grandchildren: Clay, Courtney and K’Leigh Cottle, Miranda and Ayland Letsinger and Whyatt Marino. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, December 1, 2005 in the Nelson Funeral Home Chapel in Rocksprings, Texas with burial to follow in the Rocksprings Cemetery with Charles D. Baird officiating. Pallbearers are: Carol Roy Cottle III, Travis Cade Cottle, Colby Allen Cottle, Jim Cottle, Clay Cottle, Clay Marino, Cash Letsinger, Keith Bisig and Jose Fregoso. Arrangements by Nelson Funeral Home of Rocksprings, Texas. Earnest Hamilton Prather, 77, of Camp Wood died November 27, 2005. He was born September 15, 1928 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He married Hazel Green September 27, 1950 in Corpus Christi. Ernest is survived by his wife, Hazel Prather of Camp Wood; daughters: Kathy Green of Mathis, Texas; Sharon Thompson of Leakey, Texas and Janice Alson of Camp Wood; son Vernon Prather of Camp Wood: sister Lucille Howard of Victoria; brothers: Frank Prather of Camp Wood; Henry Prather of Three Rivers, Texas; Melvin Prather of Orange Grove, Texas and Jack Prather of Victoria, Texas and 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date with interment with cremation. Arrangements by Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary in Uvalde, Texas. Dr. Clarence Louis Vernor Dr. Clarence Louis Vernor, 67, of Camp Wood, Texas died November 27, 2005 at his home in Camp Wood. He was born July 27, 1938 in Uvalde, Texas to Clarence Edward and Clara Frances Vernor. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Vernor of Camp Wood; daughters, Roxann Merri Vernor of Camp Wood, Sherri Teresa Carrillo and husband Jesse of Ponder; son, C. L. Vernor and wife Beth of Kerrville; sisters, Clariece Wallace of San Antonio, Collen Blomstedt and husband Larry of Robstown; grandchildren, Kody Allen Carrillo, Kristen Monique Carrillo, Chelsea Page Vernor, Macy Jordan Vernor and Brandon Louis Vernor. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at the Barksdale Baptist Church. Burial followed at the Barksdale Cemetery. Arrangements were by Nelson Funeral Home of Camp Wood. |
