Roque Escalante, 79, of Rocksprings died February 10, 2006 at Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital in Kerrville. He was born June 25, 1926 in Jimenez, Mexico to Roque and Petra Escalante.
He was preceded in death by his parents Roque and Petra Escalante and his wife Tomasa Escalante.
He is survived by his son Rene Escalante and wife Maria of Rocksprings; two daughters, Alma Flores of California and Mary Estrada of Odessa; grandchildren, Haleigh Parks, Desadee Escalante, Danielle Escalante, D’Sarae Escalante, Roque Rene Escalante, Armando Estrada, David Estrada and Chavo Estrada; numerous great-grandchildren; five sisters-Cesaria Robles of Del Rio, Lupe Salas of Acuña, Mexico, Eustacia Treviño of Del Rio, Rosa Ruiz and husband Nacho of San Angelo, Margarita Herrera and husband Esteban of Del Rio and Marta Venegas of Acuña, Mexico; one brother, Fermin Venegas and wife Augustina of Rocksprings; numerous nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 12th in Nelson Funeral Home Chapel in Rocksprings. Burial followed in the Rocksprings Cemetery.
Graveside services are scheduled Thursday, February 16th in the Rocksprings Cemetery for Jerry Young. Young died February 14th.
