- Charlie Curtright
Charlie Curtright, 80, of Barksdale, Texas died July 12, 2006 at Uvalde Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 23, 1926 in Oklahoma to Emmuael and Jessie Mae Boyd Curtright.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Merel Curtright; sister, Elsie Curtright; brothers, James, Leroy, Ted, Ed and Dan Curtright.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice Hatley, of Barksdale; one uncle, Carl Curtright of California; niece, Joyce Curtright; nephew, Gary Curtright of San Angelo and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Services were held Saturday, July 15 in the Nelson Funeral Home Chapel in Camp Wood. Burial followed in the Barksdale Cemetery, with Brother Carroll Vernor, Jr., officiating.
Arrangements were by Nelson Funeral Home of Camp Wood.

Richard A. Davis
Richard A. Davis, 60, of Leakey, Texas died July 22, 2006 at his home in Leakey.
He was born February 20, 1946 in Valasco, TX to Clyde and Hazel (Smith) Davis.
On July 3, 1966, he married Leona Pendley in Leakey. They later opened the Frio Canyon Grocery Store in 1980. He served in the United States Army and was also a member of the First Baptist Church, the American Legion and the Frio Chamber of Commerce. He was also a past Fire Chief for the Leakey Fire Department and very active in civic and community affairs in Leakey. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Hazel Davis and his sister Michael Davis.
He is survived by his wife Leona Davis of Leakey; two sons, Richard A. Davis Jr. and wife Michelle of Leakey and Michael Lee Davis and wife April of Kerrville, TX; three grandchildren, Zoe and Zachary Davis of Leakey and Keith Dale Davis of Kerrville; two sisters, Dianne Rogers of Leakey, Tx. and Pam Davis of Waco, TX and four brothers-in-law, Jesse Lee Pendley and wife Hazel and Robert Pendley all of Leakey, John Pendley and wife Earlene of Niceville, FL and Henry Pendley and wife Meredith of Leakey along with numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday July 25, 2006 at the First Baptist Church of Leakey with Brother Mark Spaniel officiating. Burial followed in the Leakey Floral Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Kenny Shackelford, Alex Vara, Dale Dowlearn, Larry Joe Chisum, Manuel Rubio, Jimmy Alvarado II, Jimmy Alvarado, III and Ruben Navarro.
Honorary pallbearers were Pee Wee Clark, G. W. Twilligear, Glenn Bradley and Billy Joe Brice.
Arrangements were by Nelson Funeral Home of Leakey, Texas.
