Tobey Weldon Fish passed from this life on September 19, 2006 at the age of 73. Tobey was the first child born to Clarence A. Fish and Frances Talbot Fish on July 27, 1933 at Ft. McKavett, Texas. He married Patricia Gayle Phillips of Junction, Texas on June 28, 1958. Graveside services with Masonic rites will be Thursday, September 21, 2006, 4:30 p.m. in the Ft. McKavett Cemetery with the Rev. Lewis Allen officiating. Tobey lived a rich life. After serving four years in the U.S. Navy as a gunner, exhibition boxer, and a deep sea diver, he worked his way to Manager for oil companies drilling wells in much of West Texas, Louisiana and Alaska. His work also took him to foreign places such as Kuwait, the North Sea, Norway, Australia, Mexico, Sumatra, Scotland and England. He retired from Rowan Drilling after 30 years and returned to ranching in Rocksprings. He was predeceased by his parents, mother and father-in-law, John D. and Faye Phillips; brother-in-law, Johnny W. Hodges; brother and sister-in-law, Spot and Ima Jeanne Friend. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patty Fish; daughter, Sabra Dawn Fish of Madison, Wisconsin; sister, Sarah Shepherd and husband, Gordon of Durango, Colorado; sister, Anne Erickson and husband, Paul of Durango, Colorado and Billie Ruth Hodges of San Angelo, Texas; sister-in-law, Dorothy Faye Mitchell and husband, Lloyd of Rocksprings; brother-in-law, John L. Phillips and wife, Barbara of Anchorage, Alaska. He is also survived by aunts Delores Adams and Bernice Williamson of Roosevelt and Frances Edmiston and husband, W.F. of Eldorado along with cousins, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and friends. Tobey loved life, the ranch and family. He was a historian, a teller of tales and he never met a stranger. Pallbearers are Sean Matthews, Will L. Matthews, John Dodson, Jim Lehne, J.R. Evans and Matt Hodges. Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth Wendland, Chad Upham, Lloyd Mitchell, John Phillips, Clayton Kennedy, Horsefly Murr, John McAdams and Polo Cavazos. Albert Martinez, Sr. Albert Martinez Sr., 60, of Austin, Texas died September 14, 2006 in Austin. He was born April 14, 1946 to Jose Martinez, Sr. and Erlinda Riojas Martinez in Eagle Pass, Texas. Albert is survived by five children: Albert Martinez, Jr. and wife Yvette Gil of Austin, Joe Christopher Martinz and wife Colleen of Austin, Herlinda Martinez and husband Michael of Harlingen, Texas, Ann Salinas of Austin and Rudy Salinas and wife Sonta of Austin; sixteen grandchildren: three siblings: Tony Martinez and wife Lilly and Jose Martinez and wife Pauline all of Camp Wood, Texas and Adela Martinez of San Angelo, Texas. Services were held September 19, 2006 at the St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Camp Wood with interment in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Camp Wood. Father John Fiala officated. Pallbearers were Albert Marinez III, Rudy Salinas Jr., Isaac Salinas, Matthew Salinas, Mark Martinez and Ricardo Martinez. Funeral arrangement were in the care of Nelson Funeral Home of Camp Wood. |
