He married Barbara Ann Dale on May 19, 1974.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Barbara Ann Boatright, seven children: Nancy Hatton and husband Daniel of Follett, Texas; Clifton Boatright and wife Kelly of Camp Wood; Lisa Aguilar and husband Saul of Del Rio; Scotty Whittley of Barksdale, Texas; Jeremy Boatright and wife Sybil of Camp Wood, Amanda Ward and husband Chance of Harper, Texas; David Boatright and wife Calley of Barksdale and sister-in-law Mary Williams and Roy Davis of Camp Wood. Surviving grandchildren are Nico and Logan De Leon of Camp Wood, Elicianna De Leon of Del Rio, Diego, Alberto, Nikita, Mitzi and Melissa Aguilar of Del Rio, Kaylah, Megen and Mason Ward of Harper, David and Ethan Boatright of Barksdale, Lane and Caitlin Boatright of Camp Wood, AnnaLisa, Paige, Clifton and Erin Boatright of Camp Wood, Karey Boatright of Virginia and Renee and Bonnie Hatton of Follett along with a surviving great-grandson Nathaniel Hatton of Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews.
There were sixteen siblings in his family. He is survived by brothers: Leon Bolden Boatright, Hank Douglas Boatright, Floyd Lee Boatright, Albert Dean Boatright and Terry Linerst Boatright and sisters: Barbara O’Dell Boatright Elmore and Veda Mas Boatright Goines. Other siblings include Tommy and Timmy Yoss, Tony Jean Yoss Berry, Tiny Marie Yoss Shackelford, Tammy Lelia Yoss Helm and uncle Lonnie Shannon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Clifton and Elsie Mae Boatright, siblings Howard Clifton Boatright, Jesse Joe Boatright, Reba Lee Boatright Brock, son Billy Boatright, Jr., and grandson Daniel Hatton, Jr.
Services were held Saturday, December 6, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Camp Wood, Texas. Pastor Carroll Vernor, Jr., officiated. Burial followed in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Pallbearers were David Boatright, Albert Boatright, Terry Boatright, Chance Ward, John Jones and George Boatright.
Arrangements were under the direction of Nelson Funeral Home of Camp Wood, Texas.
