He grew up in Rocksprings and Del Rio. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1963-1967. Rusty retired from Southern Pacific Railroad after 30 years of service. He loved golfing, horses, hunting, rodeos, trail rides and life. He was a fine dancer. Rusty rarely spoke against another person and was a loyal friend. He was deeply spiritual and generous. The last years of his life were spent at the farm, where he and Nora bred fine horses and raised their own hay. His sons and grandchildren were the joy of his life. Rusty was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Lucille (Cowsert) Reams. Survivors: wife, Nora Scott Reams; sons, Clint Reams and Ben Reams and wife, Alma; grandchildren, Benjamin Taylor Reams, Madison-Tate Reams, Jayce Andrew Reams; sister, Renee’ McFarland and husband, Jim; former spouse, Charlene Manning; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Rusty died of an apparent heart attack on his hunting lease west of Sanderson, Texas. Services are scheduled to be held Friday, December 16, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Porter Loring Chapel. Elizabeth “Liz” Williams of Eden Terrance in Arlington, Texas was born on October 24, 1927 in Lockhart, Texas and died December 11, 2006 in Mansfield, Texas. Liz, after retiring from being a bank teller, entered the life of cattle ranching. She was preceded in death by granddaughter: Tammy Nelson and husband of 39 years J. R. Williams. Liz is survived by sons: James William “Bill” and wife Virginia Duran and Jacob Charles “Charlie” and wife Colette Duran; daughter Julie Marie Williams; grandchildren: Russell, Jane Marie, Jacob, Will, Shannon, Amanda and Sara; 10 great-grandchildren; sister Eleanor Williams; brothers: Bruce, Joe and James Henry Colwell. The family will receive friends at the West/Hurtt Funeral Home in DeSoto, Texas on Thursday, December 14, 2006 from 5 - 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home Chapel, Hwy. 55, Camp Wood (Real County), Texas. Interment will follow in Rocksprings Cemetery, Rocksprings (Edwards County), Texas. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials or donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Dallas, 7610 N. Stemmons Fwy., Suite 600, Dallas, Texas 75247-9952. Arrangements were by West/Hurtt Funeral Home of DeSoto and Nelson Funeral Home of Camp Wood. |
