- David Duke “Spanky” Nils, 55, of Rocksprings, Texas died at his home in Rocksprings on December 16, 2006.
He was born March 22, 1951 in Dumas, Texas. He was preceded in death by adopted parents Kenneth and Elanore Mae Duke.
He is survived by wife Judy Ross of Rocksprings.
Memorial services were held at the Duke Ranch on December 23, 2006.
Judy Ross and her family would like to thank everyone for their support during this time of loss.

James Robert “Bob” White
James Robert “Bob” White, 82, of Leakey, Texas died December 27, 2006 at the Audie Murphy Veterans Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. He was born December 9, 1942 in Leakey to Walter and Gertrude White.
He is survived by wife of 37 years Sallie White of the family home. Also sisters: Hallie Chisum, Betty Smith and husband Smitty, Ann Schultz and husband Johnny all of Leakey; stepdaughters Jeanette Darrough of Midland, Texas and Betty White and Paul of Artesia, New Mexico; grandchildren: Jana Whitaker of Ozona, Texas; Shirlee Brown of Houston, Texas and Deeon Gallegos of San Diego, California: eight great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Bob attended Leakey High School, joined the Army in 1944 to 1946, was a truck driver for Rose Trucking for many years and in 1980 opened Sallie’s Antique Shop in Leakey until 2002 when he closed it and retired.
He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Gertrude, one sister Mary, one brother George, one grandson Gary Welch and his first wife Ruth. Bob was a member of the Frio Canyon Baptist Church where services were held Saturday, December 30, 2006. Burial followed in the Leakey Floral Cemetery with Dr. Jim O’Dell officiating.
Pallbearers were Will Bourland, Mike Recknagel, Dennis Rogers, Bert Gonzales, Scott Kolb, Tim Manuel and Kerry Sweat.
Honorary pallbearers were Roy Ritter, Shawn, Caleb and Cody Lawson and J. Brad Whitaker.
Arrangement were by Nelson Funeral Home of Leakey, Texas.
