Angelina and husband Chon moved their family to the Canyon in 1947 where he worked on the Williams Ranch and she raised their six children. She was a member of the First Baptist Church since 1953. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Chon Barron and one infant daughter. Survivors are children: Sam Barron, Lilly Garza and Mary Martin all of Uvalde, Paul Barron of Del City, Oklahoma, Minnie Ramirez of Camp Wood and Alyce Bohuslavicky of Katy; one sister Herminia Calzada of Seguin; twenty grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Services were held Sunday, February 4, 2007 in the Barksdale Baptist Church with burial in the Barksdale Cemetery. Pastor Greg Johnson officiated. Arrangements were by Nelson Funeral Home of Camp Wood, Texas. Meribel Fernandez, 43, of Haskell, Texas died Tuesday, January 30, 2007 in Abilene. A memorial service was held Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at Holden McCauley Funeral Home in Haskell. Visitation was held Thursday, February 1, 2007 at Nelson Funeral Home in Rocksprings, Texas. Funeral services were held Friday, February 2, 2007 at Rocksprings Church of Christ with burial in the Rocksprings Cemetery. Meribel was born December 26, 1963 in Junction, Texas to Lerenzo D. and Juanita Garza Fernandez. She graduated from Munday High School and was a homemaker. Meribel will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her son: Marcus Fernandez and wife Crystal of Haskell; brothers: Lorenzo Fernandez, Jr. of Vernon, Feliz Fernandez of Munday, Tony Fernandez of Kerrville, Joe Fernandez of Rochester, Solano Fernandez of Goree, Aldo Fernandez of Haskell; sisters: Gregoria Tamez of Donna, Mary Guzman, Florinda Arebalos, Melissa Fernandez all of Lewisville, Brenda Masias and Vickie DeLa Cruz of Haskell and two granddaughters: Destini and Amaya Fernandez. Meribel was preceded in death by her parents, brother Roman Fernandez and nephew Johnny Castillo. Holden McCauley Funeral Home of Haskell and Nelson Funeral Home of Rocksprings, Texas were in charge of the services. Mark Hall Mark Hall formerly of Barksdale, Texas died February 4, 2007 at his residence in Lytle, Texas, at the age of 48. He is survived by his mother Lois Felps Hall, also of Lytle. Jimmy Yerg, 71, of Rocksprings died February 4, 2007 at his home in Rocksprings. He was born October 8, 1935 in Century, Florida to Stephen and Mary Yerg. Jimmy was retired from Weaverxx Paper Suppliers where he was a Senior paper maker. He is survived by his wife Shirley Yerg of Rocksprings and three children: Jim Yerg of Clear Lake, Texas; Jan Calhoun of The Woodlands, Texas and Jeff Yerg of Conroe, Texas; one grandson Kristopher Calhoun, mother Mary Yerg, sister Betty Bray; two brothers: Steven Yerg and Frankie Yerg and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Stephen Yerg. Memorial services were held Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at the United Methodist Church of Rocksprings. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Cancer Society or Charity of your choice. Cremation arrangements were by Nelson Funeral Home of Rocksprings, Texas. FORT WORTH -- Albert Darius Welch, Jr., 72, a retired New York Life agent, died Monday, February 5, 2007. Funeral services were to be held next Monday at Genesis United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. with burial at 1 p.mat Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. next Sunday at Thompson’s Harveson and Cole Funeral Home. His memory may be honored with a gift to Scottish Rite Hospital, 222 Welborn St., Dallas 75219. Albert Darius Welch, Jr. was born May 9, 1934 in San Antonio, the only child of the late Albert Darius and Sarah Elizabeth Beyette Welch, Sr. Welch’s father was Albert Darius Welch, MD, who served as a physician here in Rocksprings many years ago. Welch served in the U.S. Marine Corp as a hospital corpsman and was Past Master of Poly Lodge #925 AF & AM. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Welch. Survivors: His wife of 33 years, Nancy; children, Albert D. Welch III and his wife, Linda, Victoria Welch, and Alex Wilson; grandchildren, David, Samuel and Katherine Welch. Thompson’s Harveson & Cole Funeral Home and Crematory of Fort Worth, Texas was in charge of arrangements. |
