Raymond Brent Gesch, age 57, a resident of Kerrville, Texas since September 2006, died Friday, March 9, 2007 in a local hospital. He was a prior resident of Rocksprings, Texas. Brent was born August 13, 1949 in San Angelo, Texas to Raymond E. Gesch and Faye (Smith) Gesch. On March 12, 1977, he married Abby Glasscock in Rocksprings. Brent was the City Manager for Sonora, Texas and retired in March 2005 after 28 years of public service to the citizens of Sonora. He was a member of Hosanna Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being around kids. He especially enjoyed teaching hunting safety to kids in Sutton County. Survivors include his wife Abby Gesch of Kerrville; mother Faye Gesch of San Angelo; brothers: Walter Mark Gesch and wife Robbin of Round Rock, Texas and Rory Shane Gesch and wife Heidi of Navasota, Texas; nephews: Chance, Justin and Jordan Gesch; nieces: Chessa and Kynsee Gesch; great niece Mazzie Gesch and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Mary Jane Glasscock; brothers-in-law Franklin Glasscock and wife Susan and Jim Glasscock. He was preceded in death by his father Raymond E. Gesch and a brother Stephen Randall Gesch. Graveside services were held Tuesday, March 13, 2007, 11 a.m. at Lawnhaven Cemetery in San Angelo. Pallbearers were Rich Richards, Troy Dan Smith, Harold Strasner, Johnny Wilson, Justin Gesch, Jordan Gesch, Chance Gesch, Jim Glasscock and Franklin Glasscock. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and technicians of the wound care, rehab and the Davita Clinic also Sid Peterson Hospital. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville, Texas. Jessie Lea Hankins Gilmer Jessie Lea Hankins Gilmer, 77, died Friday morning, February 23, 2007 in El Paso, Texas. She was born in Rocksprings, Texas and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University. She lived in El Paso for over 48 years and taught school at Zavala and Wainwright Elementary for 36 years before retiring from EPISD. Her survivors are her son Jess Gilmer, daughter-in-law Betsy Gilmer, three special grandsons: JJ, Jeremy and Jonathan Gilmer as well as her four-legged companions Kiki, Honiko, Scoshi and Yoyo. Visitation was on Monday, February 26, 2007 from 5-8 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home - Northeast located at 4631 Hondo Pass. Graveside services were held in Rocksprings, Texas. Jabez Lloyd Stanley Jabez Lloyd Stanley, 28, of Addison, Texas died March 8, 2007 at his residence in Addison. He was born August 26, 1978 in Brownsville, Texas to Louie Edward and Elizabeth R. Stanley. Jabez served his country in the Gulf War as an Army Ranger. He was preceded in death by his father Louie Edward Stanley; two brothers: James W. Stanley and L. Edward Stanley. He is survived by his mother Elizabeth Rodriguez Stanley of Camp Wood, Texas; three sisters: Jo Ann Goudeau of Bunkie, Louisiana; Elizabeth Garcia of Cotulla, Texas and Dolores Nevarez of San Antonio, Texas; nieces: Audrey Goudeau, Naomi Pousson, Angel Stanley, Victoria Garcia and Rachel Nevarez; nephews: Jamie Stanley, Lee Stanley, Robby Stanley, Kelcy Stanley, Jordan Garcia, Joseph Garcia, Caleb Garcia, Lucas Nevarez and Marcus Nevarez. Services were held Monday, March 12, 2007 at the Barksdale Baptist Church in Barksdale, Texas. Burial followed in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Camp Wood with Pastor Carroll Vernor, Jr. officiating. Pallbearers were Brett Vernor, Danny Irwin, Joshua Rodriguez, Mario Garcia, Randy Garcia and Raul Nevarez. Arrangements were under the direction of Nelson Funeral Home of Camp Wood, Texas. |
