- Jose M. Moncivais, Sr. 75, of Camp Wood, Texas died October 19, 2009 at his home in Camp Wood after a long battle with cancer.  He was born September 24, 1934 in Madero Del Rio, Mexico to Inez Moncivais and Isabel Rodriguez Moncivais.
Jose married Paulita DeLeon on July 21, 1961 in Uvalde, Texas.  He worked as a ranch hand on local area ranches.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Perfecta Moncivais, three brothers, Acencion, Felipe and Gilbert Moncivais.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Paulita Moncivais of Camp Wood, three children, Isabelle Schultz and husband Carroll of Mountain Home, Texas; Imelda Hernandez of Camp Wood and Jose M. Moncivais, Jr. of Marble Falls, Texas; step-son Rosendo Saiz of South Dakota; nine grandchildren, Craig, Ace and Tempe Saiz, Hunter E. Schultz, Audias Hernandez, Ryan Parks, Ariel, Ezekiel and Serena Moncivais and four great-grandchildren, Jubulee Hernandez, Jule, Keyana and Brando Saiz.
Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 23, 2009 at the St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Camp Wood, Texas.  Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Camp Wood.  Viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. both Wednesday and Thursday with Rosary starting at 7:00 p.m. both nights.
 Pallbearers were Ryan Parks, Ezekiel Moncivais, Hunter Schultz, Carroll Schultz, Alex Flores and Audias Hernandez.
Services under the direction of Nelson Funeral Home of Camp Wood.
