- Anna Marcellene Bowman, 77, of Barksdale, Texas, died June 13, 2007, at the Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas after a short illness of cancer. She was born June 17, 1929 in Wimberley, Texas to P.E. and Lena Burleson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Sam Bowman, brothers O.D. Burleson, Buddy Burleson and Bob Burleson; sisters Dorcas Shoopman and Mary Lou Thomas.
She is survived by one son, Sam Bowman of Robstown, Texas; grandson Cody Bowman of Houston, Texas and granddaughter Allison Bowman of California; three sisters: Rachel Bradford of Uvalde, Texas, Carol Tumlinson of Uvalde, Texas and Jerry Nell Ward of Kerrville, Texas; three brothers: Bill Burleson and David Burleson of Barksdale, Texas and Mickey Joe Burleson of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to: The Baylor College of Medicine, In Memory of Marcy Bowman, BRASS c/o Office of Development, One Baylor Plaza, MS: BCM160, Houston, Texas 77030.

Edith O. Butler, 85, of Camp Wood, Texas died June 20, 2007 in Uvalde, Texas at the Uvalde Health Care and Rehabilitation Center after a prolonged illness. She was born August 13, 1921 in Prague, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill Butler and son Tony Butler.
She is survived by one son, Mike Butler of Camp Wood; grandson Shane Butler of Conroe, Texas; granddaughter Martha Evans of Galveston, Texas; great-grandson Tony Evans of Galveston; two sisters Lou Harris and Louise Toton of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. “Mrs. Edie” as she was known by her friends, was an inspiration, inspiring our faith and encouraging loving trust in her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a living testimony of her resurrected Lord. She was a Sunday School teacher for thirty years to junior high boys and served in the church choir. We have been blessed to know her.
Services were held Saturday, June 23, 2007 at the First Baptist Church of Camp Wood. Burial followed in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Camp Wood. Brother Carroll Vernor, Jr. and Gary Jones officiated.

Nolan Quinnin Davis, Jr., 81, of San Angelo, Texas, died Monday, June 25, 2007 at Community Hospital in San Angelo.
Nolan was born May 23, 1926 in Seymour to Nolan Quinnin and Martha Marie Watson Davis, Sr. He served as a military policeman in the U.S. Army during WWII. Nolan married Naydene Woods on August 12, 1945 at the Seymour Church of Christ. She preceded him in death on December 5, 1996. He was the Superintendent for British American Oil Company, worked for Toronto Pipeline and was the Texaco Consigner and Distributor in Seymour. Nolan served the City of Seymour as a City Council member and a 3 term Mayor. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department, the Panther Booster Club and served as a 4-H Adult Leader. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and agreed to teach Sunday School for the teenage boys, a class no one else would take, which included one of his own. Nolan loved to fly airplanes and gliders, but his favorite hobby was politics.
He is survived by one daughter: Paula Annette Sweeten of San Angelo; two sons: Gary Nolan Davis of Dayton, Texas and Phillip Niel Davis of Seymour, Texas; one sister: Martha Ann Belcher and husband, Wayne of Little Elm, Texas; sister-in-law: Christine Hammontree of Gorman, Oklahoma; one brother-in-law: Don Woods and wife, Donia of Olney; eight grandchildren: Christopher Nolan Davis and Justin Gabriel Davis both of Houston, Texas, James Robert (Tres) Bailey, III of Washington, D.C., Sunny Jon Bailey of San Antonio, Texas, Colby Quinn Davis of Archer City, Texas, Chris Pope of Ft. Worth, Texas, Shawn Meredith of Lampasas, Texas and Brandy Sweeten of Camp Wood, Texas and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Naydene and a brother, James Young Davis.
Services were held Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at First Baptist Church, Seymour with Dr. Tommy Culwell officiating. Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery in Seymour.
The family suggests memorials to the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department, Seymour Meals on Wheels or Seymour 4-H.
Services were under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.

Rubie Weldon died May 11, 2007, at Oak Nursing Home in Burnet, Texas. She was buried in Liberty Hill, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Weldon, on March 4, 2003. Jack’s creamains were buried in the same casket as Rubie.

John Perry Guthrie, Jr.
BOSSIER CITY, LA-John Perry Guthrie, Jr. was born to John Perry and Pauline Elizabeth Guthrie, on December 10, 1942, in San Antonio, Texas and died from complications from cancer on May 28, 2007, in Shreveport, Louisiana.
He was a 1962 Rocksprings High School graduate and was raised on the family ranch in Edwards County.
He is survived by devoted wife Kathy of 26 years; four daughters, Whitney Guthrie, Krista Fallin and husband John, Jennifer Roper and husband John, and Lisha Patterson and husband Bruce; one son Michael Guthrie; mother-in-law Audrey Hamiter and three grandchildren, Christopher Fallin, Bethany and Brian Patterson.
He was preceded in death by his father Perry and mother Elizabeth Guthrie.
He was an active member of the Elm Grove Baptist Church. Any memorial contributions may be made to the Elm Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 8180 Barksdale Blvd, Bossier City, Louisiana 71112.
Funeral services were held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home on Friday, June 1, 2007 with burial at the Hamiter Cemetery in Plain Dealing, Louisiana and was officiated by Pastor Brent Shoalmire and assisted by Pastor David McCormick.
