- Lawrence Milburn Colwell, 80, of Camp Wood, Texas died October 5, 2007 at the Uvalde Healthcare Center. Milburn was born October 15, 1926 in Hackberry in Edwards County, Texas to Robert and Hattie Merritt Colwell. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Linden and Jack Colwell; two sister, Iris Parks and Lorna Martin. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mamie Colwell; two sons, Lawrence Colwell of Uvalde and Warren Colwell and wife Thelma of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren: Kelly Roach of Floresville, Texas, Daniel, Delrick and Shanna Colwell of San Antonio; four great-grandchildren: Sam and Elizabeth Roach of Floresville; Linden and Garrison Colwell of San Antonio; three sisters: Glenis Pannell of Barksdale, Texas, Clovis Colwell of Camp Wood and Janis Edwards of Rocksprings. Milburn was a Mason -- 32nd Degree Scottish Rite. His services were held Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at the graveside in the Barksdale Cemetery with Pastor Willis Adair officiating. Services were under the direction of Nelson Funeral Home of Camp Wood, Texas.
